All our tours are 8-day tours with 5 days of riding. These are also included: accommodation, transfer between Narsarsuaq Internation Airport and Qassiarsuk, all meals, a 3 hour buggy tour to the mountains, a guided tour by the norse ruins and a showing of a traditional greenlandic national costume.

Farm to farm tour

 

Day 1. Arrival

Upon your arrival to Narsarsuaq International Airport, report your arrival to Blue Ice Explorers reception at the airport. Blue Ice will make sure of your bus transport to the harbor (5min.) and boat transport to Qassiarsuk (10min.), where the farm owner will greet you. You will be shown the direction to the hostel that is close by (15min. walk) and your luggage will be driven to the hostel. Upon your arrival to the hostel, the farm owner will show you to your room and you will be informed when dinner will be served.  

Included: Transport & dinner at farm house.

Day 2. To Tasiusaq

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we all drive with the buggy to the farm Inneruulalik to meet the horses. After an introduction of the horses the guides will match you with a horse. The ride will be from farm Inneruulalik to farm Tasiusaq where we will stay 2 nights at the farms hostel. The entire ride is about 14km. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm at the farm owner’s house.

Included: Horse riding, lunch in the mountains, breakfast & dinner at farm house.

Day 3. By Tasiusaq

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we ride to a beach with icebergs that we enjoy for a moment, and then we ride to reach a point with a view of the glacier to have lunch. Afterwards we ride back to the hostel in Tasiusaq. The entire ride will be about 22km. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm at the farm owner’s house.

Included: Horse riding, lunch in the mountains, breakfast & dinner at farm house.

Day 4. To Sillisit

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we ride to farm Sillisit where we will stay at the farms hostel. The entire ride is about 20km. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm at the farm owner’s house.

Day 5. By Sillisit

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we ride nearby Sillisit. The entire ride will be around 15km. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm at the farm owner’s house.

Included: Horse riding, lunch in the mountains, breakfast & dinner at farm house.

Day 6. To Inneruulalik

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we ride back to the farm Inneruulalik and drive the buggy back to the same hostel we stayed at the first night, farm Illunnguujuk. The entire ride will be about 7km. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm at the farm owner’s house.

Included: Horse riding, lunch in the mountains, breakfast & dinner at farm house.

Day 7. Buggy tour

Breakfast in the morning and when everyone is finished and ready to go, we all drive with the buggy to move to Riding Greenland hostel. Afterwards we take the buggy to a 3-hour tour. After the buggy tour we have lunch at the hostel and then go for a guided tour by the Norse ruins. The rest of the day you are free to do what you want to. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm , and the farm owners of Inneruulalik will join you for dinner.

Included: Buggy tour, a guided tour by the Norse ruins & full board at hostel.

Day 8. Departure

Breakfast in the morning and the guides will give information to the guests of the time when they will take the boat back to Narsarsuaq. You will be driven to the Airport as well.

Day 1. Arrival

Breakfast in the morning and when everyone is finished and ready to go, we all drive with the buggy to the hosts’ farm Inneruulalik to meet the horses. After an introduction of the horses the guides will match you with a horse. The ride will be from Inneruulalik to Qassiarsuk that is about 7km on mountains. Lunch will be served at the hostel and after lunch you are free to do what you want to. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm.

Included: Horse riding & full board at the hostel.

Day 3. To Tasiusaq

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we ride through the farm Qorlortup Itinnera and further on to farm Tasiusaq, where we will leave the horses in a fenced area nearby Tasiusaq. We will drive the buggy back to the hostel. The entire ride will be around 17km. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm.

Included: Horse riding, lunch in the mountains, breakfast & dinner at the hostel.

Day 4. By Tasiusaq

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. The entire ride will be around 14km. Afterwards we will all drive with the buggy back to the hostel. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm.

Day 6. Buggy tour

Breakfast in the morning and when everyone is finished and ready to go, we all drive with the buggy on a 3-hour tour. After the buggy tour we have lunch at the hostel and then go for a guided tour by the Norse ruins. The rest of the day you are free to do what you want to. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm.

Day 7. By Inneruulalik

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we ride nearby farm Inneruulalik to a mountain called Naajat before returning back to Inneruulalik. The entire ride will be around 21km. We will drive the buggy back to the hostel. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm at the hostel and you will have dinner together with the hosts, who will also show you the Greenlandic national costume.

Day 8. Departure

Breakfast in the morning and the guides will give information to the guests of the time when they will take the boat back to Narsarsuaq. You will be driven to the Airport as well.

Glacier tour


Day 1. Arrival

Day 2. To Qassiarsuk

Breakfast in the morning and when everyone is finished and ready to go, we all drive with the buggy to the hosts’ farm Inneruulalik to meet the horses. After an introduction of the horses the guides will match you with a horse. The ride will be from Inneruulalik to Qassiarsuk that is about 7km on mountains. Lunch will be served at the hostel and after lunch you are free to do what you want to. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm.

Day 3. Nearby Qinngua

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we go to the horses and ride along the coast to the innermost of Erics Fjord, where we will see icebergs in the sea and ride by two farms called Qorlortoq and Qinngua. We ride a bit further inland following the river, and right at the foot of the mountain we will leave the horses in a fenced area. The entire ride will be about 17km. We drive the buggy back to the hostel. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm.

Day 4. To Qajiitaq

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we drive the buggy back to the horses and start the ride going up the mountain following the river of Qinngua the first 5km. The river is known for its strong waterfalls. We ride down towards the glacier Qajiitaq, through a valley with 1000m mountains on both sides. The ride ends by Qajiitaq with a view to the glacier. There is 2km between the camp and the glacier. We make the tents ready and start to cook. It is in the middle of August, so there is a change of seeing northern lights at night time. The entire ride will be about 17km. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm.

Day 5. Nearby Qinngua

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. We ride to touch the glacier and afterwards we ride back the same way as in day 3, and we leave the horses the same place in a fenced area by the foot of the mountain. The entire ride will be about 21km. We drive the buggy back to the hostel. Dinner is served between 6 and 7pm.

Day 6. To Qassiarsuk

Breakfast in the morning and everybody makes a lunch pack to bring for the ride. When everyone is ready, we drive the buggy back to the horses and start the ride to plantation of trees called Qanassiassat. At Qanassiassat we have our lunch pack and afterwards we ride back to the hostel in Qassiarsuk along the coast. The entire ride will be about 20km. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm.

Day 7. Boat trip

Breakfast in the morning and when everyone is finished and ready to go, we walk to the harbor and get onboard a boat that will sail us to the nearby glacier Qooqqut. Many icebergs run aground by Qooqqut, so we need to weave our way among the pieces of ice until we reach the fjord. We will make a stop and turn off the engine so it is quiet. We will sit in a few moments enjoying the view of the glacier, the many icebergs around us and the mountains that are on both sides of the fjord. The glacier calves about 200.000 tons of ice a day into the fjord. After the boat trip we sail back to Qassiarsuk and have lunch at the hostel and afterwards we take a guided tour by the Norse ruins. The rest of the day you are free to do what you want to. Dinner will be served between 6 and 7pm at the hostel and you will have dinner together with the hosts, who will also show you the Greenlandic national costume.

Day 8. Departure

Breakfast in the morning and the guides will give information to the guests of the time when they will take the boat back to Narsarsuaq. You will be driven to the Airport as well.

We mainly serve local fish and lamb.

We do not serve food for vegans or vegetarians at the hostel. You are welcome to bring your own food if you want to. Food served at the hostel is typical greenlandic dishes.
